My Approach
My working model is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). This approach applies the theory that our thoughts, feelings and behaviours are all interlinked and, consequently, have an effect on each other. Negative thoughts and feelings can lead to unwanted behaviours and leave you feeling trapped in a negative cycle.
CBT is a type of talking therapy which allows you to explore your life experiences, struggles or issues in a non-judgmental and safe manner. I am not here to advise you what to do but can offer perspective, insight and coping strategies. This can help to break down overwhelming problems into smaller parts and provide support to change negative patterns.
I understand that starting the counselling journey can be scary, I provide a safe and non judgmental space to support you throughout your journey at your pace. I have experience working with
Depression
Anxiety
Bereavement
Sexual violence
Health anxiety
I am happy to work with anyone aged 15 years old and older.
I am a registered member of British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their framework of good practice.
